Ever the modern couple, it was Julia who proposed to James. She's a jet-setting model and he is the CEO of Pragmatic Conferencing. Finding the diamond and designing the engagement ring was no less unique a story. Julia wanted a large Pear shaped diamond with very clear parameters, so while I was at the Diamond Show in Basel I sourced stones that fit the brief and the budget. I sent images back and I carefully examined each stone with a loupe to find the very best one and had it sent back to my studio in Canada.
Because the diamond is so big, I designed a double shank that suits her long fingers. To mirror the diamond halo we decided on diamond set shanks. The special secret in her ring is that the back has a pink gold section studded with pink diamonds.
