HOW IT WORKS

The design consultation usually takes place when you come to Radford Studio, but we can also work through email. There is a $25. fee for an in-person initial consultation that will be used towards your jewelry.

You can come to the meeting with a fully formed idea of what you want, or you might not have any idea about design. Either way, to help me understand your or your loved one’s design style, I will ask questions that lead me to that understanding, and possibly do some quick sketches on the spot to make sure we are in sync. I will make note of important dates the jewelry needs to be ready for, and I will ask for an email address where I can send virtual art renderings.

I take measurements for whatever type of jewelry I will be making: rings, bracelets, necklaces or earrings. Size and length are important, but so is proportion and comfort.

If you have a budget in mind that will be helpful. I can work within budget parameters to create what you want when I know what is important to you and whether I should suggest VVS or Si diamonds, what quality of gemstones, whether South Sea or Freshwater pearls, and 10K, 14K or 18K gold. A complicated design will require more hours of labour, and a simpler one will require fewer.

I enjoy helping my clients build or add to a Jewelry Wardrobe over time that serves them and suits them every day and on special occasions. Once I know your needs and preferences, I can make good gift suggestions to loved ones.
